MANILA, Philippines — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has requested the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to issue a red notice against former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III confirmed this in a Viber message to INQUIRER.net on Monday.
Roque is seeking asylum in the Netherlands, citing political persecution.
A warrant for his arrest was issued last May 15 by the Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 118 for allegedly violating Republic Act 9208 or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

The CIDG sent out tracker teams to arrest his 50 other co-accused, including Cassandra Ong, a key figure in the probe into illegal offshore gaming operators.
The police unit already arrested one of Roque and Ong’s co-accused in Pampanga last May 22.
The case against Roque, Ong and the 49 others was filed by the Department of Justice last April for their alleged involvement in the operations of scam hub Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga./mr
