MANILA, Philippines — Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong arrived in Malacañang on Wednesday for a bilateral meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Wong and his wife Loo Tze Lui are in the country for a two-day state visit, marking Wong’s introductory trip to the Philippines.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and members of the Cabinet welcomed them upon their arrival at the Palace.
After the arrival honors, both Southeast Asian leaders introduced their respective delegations before entering Malacañang Palace for the signing of the guest book.

The Presidential Communications Office previously said that Marcos and Wong are scheduled to hold bilateral talks, wherein they are expected to discuss the strengthening of Philippines-Singapore relations and explore opportunities for deeper cooperation across various sectors.
The two are also expected to discuss key areas of cooperation such as health, climate change mitigation and civil service cooperation, as well as exchange views on key political and economic developments in the region.
Wong’s visit marks the first Singaporean prime ministerial visit in the Philippines since 2017. /das
