The medical outreach program is part of the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Philippines and the FSM to strengthen healthcare initiatives and cooperation. The program aimed to address the high mortality rate in the FSM.

FSH Secretary of Health Marcus Samo said that the Philippines has a lot to offer to his country, especially the mentorship program that will be beneficial in the long run.

“People don’t have access to specialized medical care. So the team coming here with their specialized skills will definitely help our people,” Samo said in the same video statement.
